NIJE Learning is excited to offer a free two-year mentorship/buddy program for self-identifying Native American students, including but not limited to Native Americans, Native Alaskans, Native Hawaiians, and Indigenous peoples of South America. This program will match you with a mentor based on tribal affiliation, interests, geographic location, and school preferences. Your mentor will guide you through the college admissions process in high school and support you during your first year of college, with help on essay revisions, scholarship searches, finding unique extracurricular opportunities, and offering personal and cultural guidance. NIJE recognizes the socioeconomic disparities that Indigenous students face in their college journey, and wants to make sure the challenges these students will face aren't faced alone - with a lifelong buddy always ready to support them.
